Energy savings opportunities scheme for leisure facilities

Energy Saving Opportunities Scheme (ESOS) Assessments

Phase 3 of the ESOS is currently underway. The deadline is 5th December 2023.

The compliance year for Phase 4 is 2027, for which site audits can start from January 2024.

Leisure operators managing facilities with large swimming pools and sports spaces which incur high levels of energy usage and have over 250 employees are legally required to comply with the Energy Savings Opportunities Scheme (ESOS).  Subsequently, they will need to define how the company will approach the implementation of the energy saving opportunities identified during your assessment.

If your organisation needs help to complete, Leisure Energy can assist with this energy evaluation by providing your company with a site audit for the collection and analysis of data. This data can then be utilised to ensure that your company complies with the obligations of ESOS.

Leading on from your assessment, we can identify and implement energy saving measures which will be practicable and cost effective. We can project manage the installation of such measures and help with funding applications

Additionally, having completed the ESOS assessment, this will allow your company to report on the new Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting Policy (SECR) which came into effect on 1st April 2019.
