The Team

We have a multi-disciplinary team of sector leading experts who now work specifically in the swimming pool, sport and leisure centre environment.

Neil Bland, Managing Director

Neil has worked in the energy industry for over 20 years and has vast experience of energy projects in all types of retail, public sector, commercial and industrial buildings. Notable blue chip businesses he has worked directly for include the University of Manchester, Tesco, Centrica and Viridor. He has also worked as a consultant to many companies such as Sainsbury’s, Pret a Manger, Prezzo and various NHS Trusts. As well as energy reduction projects, Neil has also run an energy procurement consultancy team, data analytics teams and maintenance teams. He has been in the role as Managing Director at Leisure Energy since 2017 and is responsible for directing the activities of the business in implementing our vision, mission and long term goals of the company.​

Mike Worsnop, Strategic Director

Mike has over 20 years’ experience within the sport, leisure and cultural sectors and has held senior roles in the public, third and private sectors.  He is recognised as one of the most innovative and forward-thinking leaders in the sector, and joined Leisure Energy from the Board of award-winning Parkwood Leisure who were the UK Active Outstanding Organisation of the Year and the Energy Efficiency Association Partnership of the Year 2022. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity and holds a master’s degree. Mike is responsible for shaping the direction and growth of the company; developing the client base & new business, driving innovation, creating strategic and commercial partnerships, and exploring wider Leisure Energy services to take the company forward.

Mike Ardis, Technical Director

Mike is an experienced multi disciplined engineer with over 12 years’ experience of retrofitting heat pump solutions into commercial buildings. Having previously worked with companies within the energy industry with many large blue chip commercial clients, he brings a wide knowledge of mechanical, heat pump, refrigeration and electrical design, software, controls and commissioning experience to Leisure Energy. Mike is responsible for the energy team, which conduct feasibility studies, energy audits, public sector decarbonisation (PSDS) applications and carbon footprint savings, technology suitability and integration. He is also responsible for developing new technologies and applications within the leisure sector.

Georgie Hyde, Projects Director

Georgie has an engineering and energy background, having worked as a Project/Contract Manager for several companies including Avanti Gas, Orona and SCX Special Projects and being responsible for large scale bespoke installations. This has involved site management on nuclear power stations and large gas depots. Additionally, she has been involved in the production of CDM and Health & Safety documentation introducing new structures and systems. She is responsible for leading the project management team to ensure successful completion of our energy installations.

Graham Clarkson, Chairman

Graham has over 20 years of experience planning and delivering leisure projects for public and private sector clients and has an MBA in project management. He has outstanding skills in designing leisure schemes which drive up revenue and participation which has been repeatedly demonstrated by sharp increases to memberships after project completion.

Jamie Harris, Energy Manager

Jamie is a Chartered Energy Manager and has worked in Energy Management for 11 years. Having previously worked with RUMM, nPower Business Solutions, Bristol Water and Consort Energy Management. Jamie has experience in energy management, energy consulting, energy engineering and data analysis. He has worked with Universities, manufacturing facilities and water companies and helped identify, implement energy savings in excess of £5million. He has also, worked on feasibility studies of solar, hydro, and other renewable technologies. As Energy Manager, Jamie is responsible for managing the energy team; delivering energy surveys and reports, identifying opportunities and technical solutions from concept stage and liaising with the technical and projects teams to help design and deliver energy and carbon saving projects.

Mark Perkins, Assistant Energy Manager

As an experienced energy and quality manager having worked within both the public and private sectors at organisations including Warwick District Council and EM&I Ltd, Mark brings to the company an abundance of skills. He is an approved electrician with wide ranging experience of installing and maintaining a wide spectrum of domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical systems together with the knowledge of having managed the operation of a extensive M&E maintenance department with responsibility for all relevant disciplines. As Assistant Energy Manager, Mark works within the energy team to deliver energy surveys and reports. Mark assists in identifying opportunities and technical solutions from concept stage and liaises with the technical and projects teams to help design and deliver energy and carbon saving projects.

Jenny Skyvington, Technical Administrator

Jenny has over 10 years’ experience of working in the wastewater industry as a data technician working previously for Onsite and carrying out reporting for Severn Trent, Thames Water, United Utilities, and various other utility companies within the UK. Following on from this within the same company she worked within the operations team assisting with engineer’s job folders, Health and Safety, permits/passes for various clients, and Generic & Site-Specific RAMS. Within this company she also had a role as a contract coordinator which involved monitoring purchase orders and invoices, purchasing or hiring equipment for projects and producing month end/year end and WIP reports. Following on from this she ventured into the world of technology for a short time as a Project Coordinator working in procurement and managing smaller projects. Jenny also supported 2 of their biggest projects in Birmingham where they were introducing Smart buildings.

Ashley Davison, Project Manager

Ashley has a project management background in the construction industry, having provided remedial and renovation solutions to some of the UK’s largest housebuilders. With a wealth of experience managing construction projects from the perspective of principal contractor, Ashley brings a depth of knowledge of CDM 2015 and H&S responsibilities. An early technical career within the marine composites industry, building some of the world largest super yacht masts, bestows Ashley with a keen eye for detail and quality. Ashley oversees the planning and delivery of our large energy conservation installations, primarily within the south, south west and midlands regions of the UK.

Roy Rowland, Project Manager

Roy started his career in the gas industry as an apprentice gas engineer. Over the last 14 years he has worked his way up from installing and maintaining small to medium size domestic installations, to specialising in large commercial installations, testing and maintenance. He has managed numerous installations of varying complexity whilst providing mentoring support and guidance for apprentices. His work has seen him travel the country providing a service to the nuclear, high security and heavy industry sectors. He will now be using his vast mechanical knowledge, site experience and management techniques to deliver energy saving projects. Roy oversees the planning and delivery of our large energy conservation installations, primarily within the south east, midlands and northern regions of the UK.

Matt Jones, Assistant Project Manager

Matt brings to the company an in-depth knowledge of construction, having over 15 years site management experience which specialised in industrial refurbishment projects and contracted for companies such CBRE, Bentley Motors and Leoni Wiring. Matt’s role is to assist the project manager within the midlands/northern regions in the delivery of our energy installations, liaising directly with site management and subcontractors. Additionally he runs some of the small projects single handedly. He has worked within the music industry and is a keen cyclist, having qualified as an entrant for “Race for France 2023″.

Holly Jarvis, Assistant Project Manager

Holly has previous project experience within both an on-site construction role for a Principal Contractor and a support role a Structural and Civil Engineering company. Her duties have included ensuring day to day operations of the project were running efficiently and assisting with Principal Designer duties for CDM, finance, social media, marketing and admin. Holly assists the project manager within the midlands/southern regions in the delivery of our energy installations and direct liaison with site management and subcontractors. Additionally running some of the small projects single handedly.

Clover James, Project Co-ordinator

Clover has extensive experience in customer service-based roles within various companies over the last 6 years. In her last role at Aspect Group Services, a principal contractor, she was a project co-ordinator working on home improvements for housing associations, private and commercial clients. The role involved many aspects including organising site health and safety, plant and materials deliveries. She was involved in managing the administration for multiple projects which were running concurrently. Clover’s role is to support the Projects Team.

Liz Burton, Communications and Marketing Manager

Liz worked within the leisure industry in a Business Development capacity for 16 years for Places for People Leisure producing high quality leisure management tenders covering both Design, Build, Operate and Maintain and Best Value contracts. The role involved extensive liaison with local authority clients, building contractors, architects and legal advisors. Additionally, within this role, Liz was responsible for the procurement of equipment for new build facilities for values of up to £1.2m per project, ensuring both on time delivery and budgets were maintained. Her previous experience includes working at Morgan Sindall within the business development team. She is responsible for the marketing and communications within the business and assists the energy team with reports and proposals.
