Carbon Reduction Plan

Commitment to Carbon Reduction

Leisure Energy is committed to achieving Net Zero on carbon emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 1st April 2021 – 31st March 2022
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
This is Leisure Energy’s first report on emissions. The baseline of 2021/22 was set as the most current reflection on emissions, due to pandemic effects of the previous year. The company has grown in the last two years and emission levels will change over the current financial year.
Baseline Year Emissions:
EMISSIONS TOTAL (tCO2e)
Scope 1 15.57
Scope 2 0.00
Scope 3 0.00
Total Emissions 15.57

Current Emissions Reporting

Reporting Year: 01 April 2023 – 31st March 2024
Additional Details relating to the current year calculations.
Leisure Energy is continuing growing as a company as the need for leisure facilities to decarbonise and replace aging equipment increases.  Consequently, the staffing level is continuing to grow to meet the needs of our clients. In 2023 we opened an assembly plant in Kidderminster for our Net Zero Pod packaged plant room. Green electricity is bought from Octopus as of February 2024, replacing the supply from British Gas. As a business we continuously pursue ways of offsetting our carbon emissions. Senior team members have already switched to Electric Vehicles and employees are encouraged to change to lower carbon emission vehicles when possible.
Baseline Year Emissions:
EMISSIONS TOTAL (tCO2e)
Scope 1 17.79
Scope 2 1.2
Scope 3 0.00
Total Emissions 18.99

Carbon Reduction Projects

The following environmental management measures are being implemented throughout 2024/25:

  • Change of fossil fuel vehicles to electric cars.
  • Offsetting of each member of staff’s carbon footprint.
  • Minimise use of paper products and ensuring recycling procedures are in place.
  • Scope 3 subcontactor carbon reduction measures are being assessed.
