We are pleased to announce that we have been shortlisted for a joint award with Ashford Borough Council and Freedom Leisure for the Large Scale Project at the Energy Efficiency Awards.

Leisure Energy has been working in partnership with Ashford Borough Council and Freedom Leisure at The Stour Centre, Ashford on an ambitious decarbonisation project. The aim of the project was to lower the carbon emissions, together with the energy costs at the facility. Upon the Council securing a Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme grant of £1.74m, Leisure Energy project managed the installation of renewable technology and low carbon energy saving equipment at the leisure centre. This included air source heat pumps, solar photovoltaic panels to provide electricity reducing reliance on the grid and low energy lighting with LED lamps to improve illumination levels using daylight sensing controls. Carbon savings at the leisure facility of over 600 tonnes have been realised which is equivalent to the annual heating of 243 homes.

We are excited to announce that Leisure Energy has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Use of Technology: Carbon Reduction category at the Techfest Awards 2021 for the installation project from the PSDS grant funding at The Stour Centre in Ashford.
